This year, 412 Ƶ physicians across 66 medical specialties have been recognized.This figure includes Ƶ doctors— whoare full-time faculty members of Weill Cornell Medical College and are integrated into our hospital partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian— as well as our voluntary faculty. Voluntary faculty are distinguished doctors who complement our full-time faculty while maintaining their own private clinical practices.We congratulate them and applaud their efforts to raise the standards of medicine even higher.
To compile “Top Doctors” lists, Castle Connolly turns to 250,000 leading doctors each year, asking them to name the nation’s best physicians in various specialties. The company encourages the doctors to identify the experts “to whom you would send members of your family.”
The most important criterion for physician selection was excellence in patient care. Other criteria included education, residency, board-certification, fellowships, professional reputation, hospital affiliation, medical school faculty appointment, experience and disciplinary history.
